No — we rotate partners in group class, and you dance with your instructor in privates. Most students begin solo, and many meet their dance partner here.
Comfortable clothing you can move in, and smooth-soled shoes — leather or suede soles glide best. Avoid rubber soles that grip the floor.
Most students are out on the floor within a few weeks. The New Student Special, with a couple of group classes, is usually enough to feel at ease at our Friday party.
Teens to eighties — everyone is welcome. We teach professionals, couples and active retirees alike. There is no wrong age to begin.
