Our Method

Three ways to learn

Our approach blends three kinds of practice. Each does a different job — together they bring you onto any floor, with anyone.

I.

Private lessons

One-on-one with your instructor build the technique, frame and line that make every dance feel effortless.

II.

Group classes

Rotating partners build the muscle memory and lead-follow skills that cannot be learned alone.

III.

Practice parties

Our Friday socials build the quiet confidence to take it onto a real floor — unhurried, and entirely yours.

Good to Know

Questions & answers

Do I need a partner?

No — we rotate partners in group class, and you dance with your instructor in privates. Most students begin solo, and many meet their dance partner here.

What do I wear to my first lesson?

Comfortable clothing you can move in, and smooth-soled shoes — leather or suede soles glide best. Avoid rubber soles that grip the floor.

How long until I can social dance?

Most students are out on the floor within a few weeks. The New Student Special, with a couple of group classes, is usually enough to feel at ease at our Friday party.

What ages do you teach?

Teens to eighties — everyone is welcome. We teach professionals, couples and active retirees alike. There is no wrong age to begin.

Drop-in or membership?

Both. Begin with the New Student Special, then choose private packages, an unlimited-group membership, or a combination. No long contracts.
